I set up a fake container to receive the emails.
Here's the pull for 815 from that site. See anything familiar? Flight: #815 Status: Alert Airport: SYD Scheduled: 14:04 Actual: 14:08 Gate: 15 Airport: LAX Scheduled: 03:16 Actual: 03:23 Gate: 42 Who said there was no 42F? There's a 42F. WHen I loaded it up, only one seat was shown as filled...9E Carlyle, Boone. HHHmmmmm....is it possible an Artz seat will be filled? WHOA! I clicked on Boones seat. It flashed an image of Boone several times. Now the seat, 9E is no longer shown as occupied...it was green... Something else is odd. The homepage says OceanicAir had financial difficulties in the wake of the 815 tragedy. Yet, the tracking pull shows the flight having ARRIVED in LA seven minutes late. WTF? A tragedy in arriving late? So, did it crash or was it late? Here we go with time theory again. Will it turn out in the amount of time the aircraft was late (Henceforth known as The Missing Seven Minutes) the Lostaways were able to live out an entire adventure? This would imply Oceanic815 actually ARRIVES at some point (end of story?). Could the Others be people who couldn't make it back from their own trips...caught on the island with no way to return. If they did return, would they arrive Seven Minutes late as well? This message has been edited. Last edited by: I'm Spartacus!, |

It seemed, at least to me, that the vapor/ghost was actually the residual smoke from the dynamite explosion and the the creature or whatever, sort of "scuked it back in," for want of better phrasing. Thus the smoke was haniging on the monster so as to make it visible, but the smoke isn't actually THE monster. At least that was my interpretation. Side note: in case you don't already know this, The X-Files was inspired by the original Mightstalker series. This is why Chris Carter had darren McGavin guest star a couple of times. |

I found the hidden text on the homepage, on the right hand side underneath the message from the CEO saying the airline is busted. There is an "se" dangling outside the frame for part fo the message at the top. Im not sure how it unlocked. Not sure if I did anything or not. I enterend the flight info on the boxes, there are six age categories at the bottom, which is odd, so I punched in the numbers there...

Couple theories and tidbits of info...
Check out http://www.oceanic-air.com/ - I came across it today and I'm not too sure what it is all about but cool nonetheless. Also, I find this to be very strange. This morning I clicked on the LOST website and clicked the Diary link. The mysterious writer that everyone was talking about a month back had signed her name and where she was from. I was at work and figured when I came home I could check it out but now it is gone. I do remember her being from California but that's it. I don't think this will play onto the show unless in season 2 they mention the characters name real quick in a scene just to get us all excited. I think that the Hatch will eventually lead to the home of the the "others" (also from the dark tower). They want youth to train and become one of them because when you are young you can be trained where as everyone else is set in their ways. I also think the guy on the boat was not the leader of the others but just the guy sent to do the dirty work. We will be introduced to a leader of the others in the upcoming season. I also believe in season two either Jack or Locke will see Charlie's statue and there will be a series of events having Charlie act weird. One of the two will flip on Charlie only for it to be revealed that he is clean and was legitimately using it to pray. Afterall, wasn't he a religious guy before the drugs? |

re: the seating chart, there are 42 rows, which is the largest of the bad numbers. Kate was on row 23. Boone and his sister were on 8, I believe.

I think the person who said there was no 42F was looking at the letter assignments for first class, but there is a 42F. When I click on 42F, I got a green seat for Shannon Rutherford, and a picture of Sayid near that. Clicking on the green seat, the picture of Sayid cleared up and I got a view of his passport briefly. I also got Kate's picture to show up, as well as Mars, the agent taking her back.

1.I also saw the dangling edges of the hidden messages on the oceanic web page.
2.re the sucked in to LOST - I NEVER watch TV - dont know any commercials people talk about, dont know the American Idol contestants etc. someone turned on LOST while visiting and now I and my 9yr old son are addicted to it! 3. The 7-minute theory - it sounds right on to me. Furthermore, i saw the writers in an interview and they said that they put together a bunch of their influences for Lost. One they mentioned was the Twilight Zone. The 7minute theory sounds very Twilight Zone-ish. This interview was also the one in which they claimed there would be no 'unexplainable' sci-fi answers - that everything would make good sense. 4. Im just happy that they provided some sense of resolution in the finale - we got to see in the hatch (could you imagine if they left it just as they were about to open the hatch?). and Claire got her baby back. 5.re Sawyer jumping in the water - is it possible that he wasnt hurt? Just that he saw the chance to get in the water to save Walt? In the fall, will we find Sawyer hanging onto the Others boat trying to sneak on to save Walt? Will he somehow singlehandedly kill the Others and Sawyer and Walt will rescue Walts dad and Jin and continue on to find land and save the lost group? |

If anyone else wants to see the pink "Exodus, II" script sheet, you can find it here.
If you're like me and didn't have a clue what a Mapinguari is, you can find out more about this "beast" here. And Found -- nice work finding this thing. Coco and fabe,
On the front page, I found a pink sheet from the "Exodus, Part II" script. It has dialogue between Sun and Kate. And included a scene where Charlie runs from the monster through the jungle. The monster is described as: Huge. Mechanical AND biological. Godlike and profane. A massive, multi-tentacled robotic beast resembling a primordial mapinguari - only partially obscured in a cloud of acrid smoke! The entire description is crossed out and in the margin is scribbled, "No! No! No!!! No Mapinguari!! These two messages are also on the page: If anyone should find this message, please get word to Sandra Rafflethorpe of Palm Avenue in Lewiston, Idaho that her sister, Sally is alive and stranded on an island somewhere in the South Pacific. Please send help soon. Things are bad. And they're getting worse... Sally Robert D. West, of Santa Barbara, California, USA survived a horrific plane crash and is stranded on an island somewhere Northeast of Australia and Southwest of Hawaii. In the event that I am never found, please forward word of my fate to parents, Mr. and Mrs. John West, of Tucson Arizona. Thank you. Robert |

Alright, seating chart stuff. At some point I was able to get a drawing of the Island with writings on it. It says:
"The sea we see Danger along the clear gulfs Silver reflections" "Facing winds" "Has silver reflections... the sea of changing reflections At the edge of [can't figure out the translation] a [same thing] Blue regret" It also says that the western part of the Island is "the wild side". The eastern part is the "bug-infested side". It also points to the top of the mountain and it says "crater". The Island is between 2,500m and 3,000m. That would make the Island between 8,333feet to 10,000 feet tall. If I can ever see that drawing again, I'll try to decipher the two words I couldn't understand. Sha la la. |

This Oceanic site is pretty clever.
The "se" on the right hand side of the page is part of two hidden messages. You can see both of them if you do the View > Source trick with your browser (for those of you who haven't wasted good portions of your life doing HTML, the View > Source tool allows you to see the HTML coding behind any Web page). If you do the View > Source and look all the way to the bottom of the ensuing text document, you'll find the following two "hidden" messages:

I swear I'm going to bed... sorry for the constant posting but check out what I found...
http://www.oceanic-air.com/seatingchart.htm - this site is registered by abc & disney. This I somehow came across but couldn't find my way back to it. It seems to be a game where you can unlock maps and passports and such. Start by clicking on seat a of each of the cursed numbers. But here's the weird part... according to the map... there is no seat 42F! So what you ask? That's the seat that Ana-Lucia repeated a couple times as her seat number in last weeks episode... does that give anyone any ideas? ok, i'm done for the day. |

This is Bob Jones, of Tulsa Oklahoma and I would like to inform the First National Bank of Enid that I will be late making my September mortgage payment as I am STRANDED ON A FRIGGIN’ ISLAND IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE! Please have the government send a search team immediately or don’t all the taxes I pay cover an expense like that? BJ If you are reading this note PLEASE get word to my wife, Christina Smith that her husband, Jake survived the crash of Oceanic Flight #815 along with 47 others. Darling, I miss you so much and dream of the day I can see your face again. The very thought of that day is all that keeps me going here. Please don’t forget me! Jake Smith |

more seating chart stuff.....
I think clicking on 42F when you get there starts opening up the seats, but I dont know for sure. This time, I got Charlie (29C) which brought up a diary that had a picture of Claire and Charlie, but Charlie was scratched out. I couldnt read what was on the diary pages. Then Jack (23a), the plane configuration seemed to change. And Flight 815 in the corner changed to Oceanic 777. then, Rose (23D). there was a Russian Vodka bottle that moved around the screen. Should we move talk about the webiste to a new thread? |

Hello, long time reader, first time poster.
When you get to the seating chart, the numbers at the bottom of the chart indicating the rows of the airplane, click the "cursed" numbers 4-8-15-16-23-42 in order, and you will get a preview for next season. What does it mean? I have no idea. |

Yes that intrigued me too, also the fact that it says they will get to the other side of the island. Was that Sawyer running through the jungle? I couldn't tell if that was supposed to be old footage or new. As if the show didn't leave us with enough questions, now they are giving us more. It will be a long summer. |

I have no idea if the following stuff can be duplicated (it probably can, but I don't have time to sort through it all), but here are a few things I found on the seating chart:
Go to Oceanic-Air.com Enter 4 8 15 16 23 42 into the Travellers section on the home page. Click seat 42 F on the seating chart Seat 23A should turn green (it will read Sheppard, Jack. 23A) Click 23A Seat 23C will turn Green. Seat 23D will turn Orange. Click Seat 23D (Rose) Then click 23C. A small russian vodka bottle will zip across the screen. Click Seat 23B Seat 29C will turn green (it will read Pace, Charlie. 29C) Alternate: Click seat 42 F on the seating chart Seat 24 D will turn green (it will read Locke, John. 24D) Click 24D A series of images will show up -- a survival guide, a long knife and then the case holding Locke's knives. A fast shot of Locke looking mean and standing in the rain will appear and you'll hear a GOD-AWFUL high pitched static noise. Both the image and the noise quickly disappear. Click 23A Seat 9F will turn green (it will read Rutherford, Shannon. 9F). Click this a couple times. Sayid's identification card will appear, although it will be obscured behind the seating chart. Then, the maps Sayid stole from Rousseau will appear in the lower right corner. Drag the map up to see more of it. Click 8F Seat 9D will light up, this is Boone's seat. Click it and you'll see a couple images of Boone. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Senior Editor, Owner, Guy Who Writes the Lost Blog The Fodder Network: Interesting Blogs for Interesting People |

A little sidenote:
As already noted, if you click the seating chart row numbers in order (4 8 15 16 23 42), you'll get the season 2 preview. Big thanks to all for posting directions/hints for getting around the OceanicAir site. Can't wait to show my husband when he gets home...
FYI, I found a new image this time when I clicked on Kate's seat--the outline of the 777 at the bottom of the screen shifted. When I slid my mouse over it, an image of Kate's DC-3 was superimposed. I can see me spending obsessive amounts of time on this seat chart... |

Clicking Hurley's lotto numbers, I found some of those you mentioned, but I still don't see a 42F anywhere. Is there a different chart? |

On row 42, there is no seat A. B and C are on the left side of the plane. D, E, and F are in the middle. G and H are on the right side of the plane. ont follow the F at the front of the plane, that is the first class F. Starting in business class the F row moves from the right outside row to the middle section.

The items falling out of the bag hint survival. Take a close look...sinkers, rigs?? That's fishing.
The book on the left has the word "survival" in the bar code area. This must have been Lockes' stuff for the expedition he was trying to go on. |

EMK, I pulled out my trusty Cassell's French/English dictionary. I'm pretty sure that one of the missing words in your translation is "intermède" (hope the coding for the accent mark works), which means "interlude." This makes sense in the context of what you translated already in that the last two lines would read "An interlude/Blue regrets."
The other missing word would be a lot harder to figure out as the second letter in it is missing, so I'd have to read the entire list of "a" words to see if a word ending in "tang" is there! BTW, thanks for posting the link to the large-scale map in the "Exodus II" thread--very helpful to see it larger & w/o a seating chart obscuring it. |

Regarding the lyrics on Danielle's map:
The following is from Pegasus_x, from the forum on Episode 12, "Whatever the Case May Be":
I did notice that part of what Danielle has written on the map isn't exactly what the lyrics are, but if I remember my French well enough, "Près de" & "Au bord de" both mean pretty much the same thing. |

Hi everyone, just wanted to point out that the number 777 probably does refer to the type of plane. I found this story on the BBC website about Boeing unveiling their new plane - the story is dated 16th February 2005.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4266695.stm "Boeing unveils new 777 aircraft Boeing is pinning its hopes on smaller planes with longer ranges US aircraft firm Boeing has unveiled its new long-distance 777 plane, as it tries to regain its position as the industry's leading manufacturer. The 777-200LR will be capable of flying almost 11,000 miles non-stop, linking cities such as London and Sydney. Boeing, in contrast to European rival Airbus, hopes airlines will want to fly smaller aircraft over longer distances. " Anyway, I also wanted to point out that while everyone is talking about the 'seven minute theory" (the fact that the website seems to suggest that flight 815 landed, but 7 minutes late), the plane actually took off 4 minutes late (at 14:08 instead of 14:04) so in fact the flight would've only 'lost' 3 minutes. Also wanted to say I'm really enjoying reading everyone's posts and ideas. |

You're right..."Près de" would translate to "Close to" and "Au bord de" would translate to "On the edge of" |

Much is being made of the plane being shown as "landed", but on an airline schedule, a flight number is a route that runs frequently. IE, the same flight number can occur every day or several times a week or whatever. So the plane that landed 7 minutes late could have been the previous day's 815; this would explain the landing and the incorrect departure gate number. Have the dates been matched up? (However, I think given flight routes usually leave from the same gates each time they run.)
I don't trust ANY spoiler info on this site (IE the pink page with Mapinguari, etc) - I think it's there to fake us out. A little to the side of things as far as topicality goes, but maybe something to consider: "Beyond the Sea" was also the title of a first-season X-Files episode, the one in which Scully's father dies and then visits her as a ghost (yeah, it used the Bobby Darin song). And not really the first to use the metaphor of "the sea" as "death". But I don't think the lostaways are dead or anything. Just that the X-Files thing is the first connection I make with A) that song and B) audience-maddening Weird-Stuff tv shows. This message has been edited. Last edited by: verbminx, |

Ah yes, the excellent Starbuck-Ahab episode. It still ranks as one of my favorites.
One thing that hasn't really been explored is the validity of that song within the "Lost" universe. Sure, the map and the lyrics have been translated, but there has to be some meaning, right? "Beyond the Sea"? Where beyond the sea? Who is beyond the sea? ------------------------------------------------------------------ Senior Editor, Owner, Guy Who Writes the Lost Blog The Fodder Network: Interesting Blogs for Interesting People |

Given the age of the song "La Mer", I wonder if it might tie into Adam and Eve somehow. It would work out chronologically.

Verbminx -- According to the Oceanic-Air website, the flight #815 that landed 7 minutes late took place on Sept 22. And according to the Driveshaft website (http://www.driveshaftband.com/) Kennedy posted (assuming the site is legitimate, created by Lost people), there's an entry saying our Lostaways flight was also on Sept. 22, 2004 - same day. Going one step further, Oceanic's site says the flight landed at 18:16, or 6:16 PM. This same entry says flight #815 disappeared from radar at 3:24 PM. Given that time table, I don't think we could be talking about 2 seperate flights. I think the Oceanic flight that landed is somehow supposed to be the same flight our Lostaways were on. No idea how that's possible though...yet. |

Thinking about
"THEY'RE NOT THE SURVIVORS THEY THINK THEY ARE"... This could mean several things. The one everyone is throwing around is probably the most likely: that there are more survivors from the tail section of the plane. However, there is another possible (more chilling) meaning: some of these people are not ultimately going to be survivors. They survived the crash itself, sure, but many of the group of One thing that has worried me about this show since I started watching it is the possibility that they would end it with the last survivor dying. That thing showing the flight as landed - if not an accident (have we also checked to see that the times match up to the length of the flight, including timezone changes?) - is kind of reassuring, actually. |

I have been pondering the meaning of the latest teaser from this site. After seeing a comment that Joss Holloway made about the boat people, (http://www.spoilerfix.com), and what has been posted here, I am more inclined to think about this in two ways:
Scenario 1: Oceanic Flight 815 crashed AND it arrived at its destination. Sound crazy? Yes, but maybe, just maybe this is happening. We know that JJ is throwing lots, and I mean LOTS of religious references our way. So, may these Lostaways are experiencing this whole island things as some kind of mental, frozen-in-time test. This is all happening in one second of real time as they sit in their seats on the flight. Maybe Walt is the key to all this and has somehow used his strange power to try and set things right. So, after how many seasons, we see that these people are all changed; that those we thought were dead are, in fact, alive and well. Hence the cryptic phrase "THEY'RE NOT THE SURVIVORS THEY THINK THEY ARE"... Scenario Two: This one leans way more heavily into the scifi aspects. Once again, Oceanic Flight 815 crashed AND it arrived at its destination. The aircraft hit an abnormaility in space and time, which somehow threw one version of the plane into a crash while the other continued onward. Other craft have also been affected by this phenomenon, like the Bermuda triangle, except this time one craft made it back! Here's one last scenario which I haven't been able to think through yet. What Joss said makes some sense if we are dealing with a government secret experiment... involving clones. The Lostaways only think they have crashed on this island. Very elaborately staged, but staged nonetheless. Just think a moment - why was Jack lying so far out in the jungle in Pilot? How could anyone have survived a crash of this magnitude with only scratches'? Well, have to get ready for work. Any thoughts? I may be going nutters on this, but it's still a lot of fun! ;D |

What if they are all suffering from a mass hallucination?
Mayhap this is all a figment of (insert name here)'s imagination. That, as the turbulence occurred, they envisioned the possibilities of what could happen IF the plane had crashed using people from the plane as characters. There was a commercial once where a man and a woman met in an elevator. In the split second their eyes made contact, one of them (or both)envisioned the pair living out an entire life together. This included wedding, trips, childbirth, the whole routine. Given the crappy ending of the first season (I mean really...how many useful questions honestly got answered?) I'd say any theory is a good theory right now. As I ponder the ending of the first season, the more pissed off I get thinking about it. Season two had better answer some major issues or this Spartacus is going back to PS2 on Wednesday nights. |
|||
|

Spartacus, there is no way - in fact, in one of the interviews, JJ said that this is not is someone's head and that it is not a hallucination/people going crazy, etc.
Besides, that would make the entire show pointless, like horror stories that wake up from a dream in the end. X( |
