I'm the first to criticize Michael Bay for his bombastic direction (I'll never forgive him for "Pearl Harbor"), but I gotta give Mikey credit for this Nick Cage/Sean Connery action flick. Connery is fantastic as an old-school spy who's been in prison for decades. Nick Cage has his full borderline-insane routine going on all cylinders. Toss in Ed Harris as a misunderstood crazy-ass general and mix it all up with seizure-inducing jump cuts and you've got a pristine guilty pleasure.
