It wasn't my first choice for a title. I can understand it, but..... *shrugs*
Too bad I didn't have a chance to attend any of the Comic-Con events or the recent XF retrospective in LA.
The XF OS is still hidden. I think TPTB have forgotten about us. If they link it to the movie's site, there could be new posters. But nope. Drop by as some old posters have also found the place.
Writing is slow. Not feeling particularly motivated. Have some ideas kicking around. Just a matter of applying myself.
Winter is still here. It's been snowing for five days straight. I think it's finally stopped though.
Hey everyone, no you are not forgotten, even if I've been absent a while.
Gillian A was on Jay Leno flogging the movie the other night. She looks great but is soooo NOT Scully! She seems very happy and is expecting kidlet #3.
I'm going to try and catch XF this weekend if there are any screens not showing Batman.
Alternate Title: I saw a take I liked on a blog the other day ... "I Choose Not to Not Believe"
xed- I thought I was starting a discussion on the other thread- Done One?- but I am glad you started a separate thread for the movie. argo- I mentioned you in the other thread-did you see? It has been kind of lonely here the last few days. I was such a geek on Friday. I went to the first showing of the day, with my old XFs CD playing in my car and then I was pretty much bored by the movie. I had the feeling that it was an idea that looked better on paper than on the screen. I will check back again and see if anyone wants to talk about it. I wouldn't mind kicking around a few opinions for old times' sake.(including the title-boy did they leave themselves open for negative comments with that one... "I wanted to believe", or "I used to believe" are just a couple that come to mind)
OK- just noticed that xed started this thread in April! OK. How about if we agree to discuss it here and forget that other one? It was much easier when we had single seasonal thread titles! (I am so old-fashioned)
Cassandra - yes, I did see your post on the previous thread. That was a great visit and I remember how much fun CassJr and her friends had at the beach.
I guess it's ok to discuss the movie now, it's been out long enough. I was pleasantly surprised how much I did like it. It was more of a stand-alone episode, and I wasn't setting the bar too high. It was good to see the Mulder-Scully duo reunited, along with Skinner in the "here comes the cavalry" mode. Carter, et al have had enough time to work on the script. What I noticed more this time was the really good musical score. It was right on. I'd say I would recommend it to fans, just sit back and think it's Sunday at 9pm again.
I get the whole stand alone episode thing, but amanda peet AND Xhibit? Really? Was there seriously no no-names left to cast for these parts? Someone with an ounce or two of talent more than this dud of a duo? Carter? Hello? Did you you really write this? Or just pass it on to the first highest bidder?
NO chemistry between Moulder and Scully NO reason to even mention moulders sister other than to reassure fans that this was X-files...
Bush? was that even necessary? It made me laugh a little but now that i look back, that may have been the only time in the whole film that got an emotional response out of me...
