This forum is slowly fading away. No old timers here since Feb 21. Frowner

I'm here, but I've been remiss in posting. Mainly too tired.

I have a p/t consulting gig that takes up some of my evenings. And it's also gearing up to be my busiest time at work.

In good news, I will be in Chicago in July! Lucky me gets to go to a conference!

Hi guys! Yes, I too have been remiss about posting here. The weird thing is that I have been watching a lot of XFs lately! I bought season 5 yesterday at Best Buy. Now I have seasons 1-5 and can have mini-marathons whenever I want to. I watch the arc eps alone, cause Mr. C hates those with a fiery passion but he loves the stand-alones. I am so glad that Fox has finally lowered the price on them; took long enough! I especially enjoyed watching "Detour" last night and seeing Anthony Rapp from "Rent". When it first aired, I didn't realize the significance of his first scene showing him holding a camera. (like his character, Mark, in Rent) Anyhow, enjoying the old episodes and seeing so many connections to other shows that I enjoy-it's like a "royal" lineage including Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Stargate, and 24. Directors, actors, writers, etc.; even outdoor shots in Vancouver that I recognize from XF and Stargate.
So, if anyone else is interested in strolling down memory lane, watching DVDs and commenting on their impressions all these years later, I would enjoy that. One thing I had forgotten was just how distrurbing some of the images on the show were. I actually have to look away sometimes! But then there are those gorgeous close-ups of Gillian Anderson, like framed Titian portraits. What wonderful camera work and photography.
As for why I haven't posted here in awhile, I think the same thing has probably happened to others. Everytime I would check here, there would be no new posts so I gradually stopped checking. Maybe we could arrange to check in the first weekend of every month.
Thanks pegasus and xed-out for keeping us afloat. Spring has finally arrived for real in DC. And I missed the cherry blossoms again! But there are so many flowering trees around where I live I never feel compelled to go into the city and deal with the crowds. I am, however, going to deal with the crowds on opening day at RFK! Nationals v. Mets. Still totally immmersed in hockey season, but happy that baseball is back. I will just have to wait til hockey is over to get excited about it.
Hey Trust-you have to stop by, there are no other people here to talk sports with! Watching GMU lose yesterday was tough, but watching them win all the other games was so much fun! I know a few students and teachers there and it was really fun to have a local school in the Final Four.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying springtime!

Hi Xed Out,
I admit, I drifted away for a bit - a lot longer than I thought, I guess! I did post in a few threads here and there (once or twice).

But I'm still around. Smiler

I've thought about investing in some of the earlier seasons of X-files, but I might sign up for Netflix instead: I feel like my fascination for XF was dribbled away by an idiot for a PTB (CC), kinda like my enthusiam for Stargate is beginning to drift due to the unrelenting stupidity of the producers and writers.

I hear Supernatural is the current show to take up where the XF left off, with monster hunting, etc, and is pretty scary to boot. (I'm a coward, so I haven't been able to finish a complete episode!)

I'll be sure to check in more often, as long as y'all do, too!
