Some quick points. Charles was pretty much a ruthless ass from day one it seems. I do think that Blondie is Faraday's mom the time cop (after a quick moment of briefly thinking that it was the girl in the bed.) Not Charles' son, otherwise he would have the same worry for Faraday as he does for Penny.
There were more "others" then I thought. It does seem that they were either plowed down (against army and darma) in the conflicts or left the island to have kids, see the world, etc. I think they are the ones working with Ben in the present.
The others are striking me as hermit crabs.
See Jughead thread for my thoughts on what happened to the bomb.
Richard went to see Locke as a child because he was invited. (Didn't see that coming.)
Faraday at the orchid is just a stop in his time travelling (which is stops the flashbacks but still tells the story, Danielle is up next and she will think that our folks are the others I suspect.)
Not sure if the others know about time travelling yet, not enough information.
Finally, Miles and Sawyer are long lost brothers, as Miles tries to outdo his brother in wise cracks.

LOL - he's not nearly as funny tho. And I'm wondering why Sawyer hasn't been all over him for wearing his hood. D'ya think it helps him hear dead people better? (Let's all say it together: "I hear dead people.")
I'm very satisfied with the Richard-Locke loop. I know some people are disturbed by the compass that comes from nowhere, but generally speaking, it's a time travel loop I can follow and I like what it does to the story. Locke is still so interesting to me. He wants to be a leader, but obviously doesn't have a whole lot of leadership skills. He's really waiting to be a pawn, asking everyone to tell him what to do. Easily manipulated, and he just doesn't see it.
It just occured to me that Alpert made a big mistake when he visited boy-Locke and asked him to identify which of the objects belonged to him. Alpert rejected Locke as not being the boy he was looking for because he failed to pick the compass. We know now that the compass never belonged to Locke.
Alpert was wrong; Locke was the boy he was looking for.
Of course he did, I bet that someone finds the compass on the black rock and Locke gives it to Alpert with the orders to give it back to him at the correct time (i.e. Some douche Named Ethan Rom shoots him).
I just wanted to state quickly that a lot of people have pointed out that the name "Jughead" was confusing and they struggled to think why the episode was called this, was it only me who notice the word JUGHEAD written in lost font on the bomb when we got a good ol' closeup?
so....locke tells Richard in 1954 that that he (Locke) will be born on May 30, 1956.
Then, May 30, 1956 Richard is there for Locke's birth.
How did Richard get to the real world in 1956?
Did he pick up a phone and book a flight from Fiji to the US? Did he sail to Fiji and then book his flight? Did a military plane or a private plane come in and get him and take him to the US? How did the military or the private plane know to come fetch him? Phones? Where did the phones come from?
If Richard can go by non-mysterious means from the island to the US in 1956 doesn't it follow that there is no mystery about how anybody got to the island during that era?
And if mysterious means were the method employed to get from the island to the US, then doesn't it follow that either the FDW was functioning at that time OR there is another mysterious means by which one can travel from the island to points elsewhere?

So, yeah...what the hell?
Didn't Richard refer to a submarine as a means of island/off-island transport? It's not mysterious but maybe there's something to do with traveling underwater that allows trips back and forth that don't require use of the FDW.
