I am new to this forum, but I have never missed an episode of Lost. Maybe everyone already knew this, but I was freaked out today when I added the lotto numbers together(4,8,15,16,23,42)it equals "108".... as in pushing the button every "108 minutes"!!! Did everybody already know this?

Sorry to burst your bubble BL, but as LostHokie pointed out in a previous thread, List of overused words, fivE is one of the numbers and four can't be because all of the other numbers have at least one E in them and four does not. So the timer would have to reset to 109 to make your hypothesis about the timer and the sum of the numbers being the same. Good try though. Welcome to the forum. Smiler

BL:
These folks are playing with you. This has been discussed ad nauseum in many threads. This forum is pretty prickly about posting things that have already been discussed and will "plead" with you to please use the "find" tab to check if your thought has already been posted.

I put "plead" in quotations because some folks around here aren't that nice about giving you that direction...

Anyway, welcome to the forum. I feel pretty at home here, but got blasted a few times for being overly enthusiastic and posting before finding. Consdier it your newbie dues!

Do take some time, though, to research this forum before posting - these folks have all kinds of smarts from all kinds of areas and they've pretty much covered/considered it all. I learned a lot by reading and was amazed at some people's insights.

Yo, Pat, are you spelling 42 "forety-two?" LOL

[Note to BL: Patcon is the spelling, grammar & punctuation police. He's messin' wit' you double.]

Great catch on "forety-two." I was so intent on "messin' double wit' da noobie" that I only checked 8 (Eight), 15 (fiftEEn), 16 (sixtEEn), and 23 (twEnty-thrEE). But I do like the idea of an unintentional error adding to the humor of an intentional one.

Please note that Officer Patcon gave himself a ticket for mistyping "havr" instead of "have." This has now been edited and I will now type "have" 42 times as penance.
have have have have have have have
have have have have have have have
have have have have have have have
have have have have have have have
have have have have have have have
have have have have have have have
OK, to be totally honest, I didn't really type it 42 times. I typed it 7 times and then copied it and pasted 5 copies. But my heart was in the right place. (And by "right place" I mean "just slightly left of center in the chest cavity behind the sternum.")

BL: I wasn't really flaming on you. I'm a total goof and can't resist a chance to have some fun.

Ah...BL. In order to save yourself from much flogging, you might want to a)read the forum rules b) check the previous topics and c) go ahead and assume that since this forum has been up for a while, most theories, clues and sureties have already been discussed beyond reason.
and remember...

there is NO new thing under the sun.
that being said, hope you will continue to peruse these threads, and I think you'll find a lot of interesting things that are new to you.

cheers!

You guys probably don't even realize that our good friend BLHowie will never even read the stuff we are posting.

By now he has already forgotten his password, and will never use these forums again...

Well, to his defense, he said he was new here, so maybe he's just a pre-pubescent teen figuring this stuff out all on his own. That could be pretty brutal - I think collectively, the posters in this forum could solve any mystery. Hey - maybe we should all work on the WMD issue in Iraq...

Cool

I know that some lurkers think it is funny to post obvious stuff and then watch the flaming begin. However, the poster could very well also be some well meaning kid and I think sometimes it is best to be safe and not flame someone who might get hurt.

Besides when you flame and it is a lurker trying to jerk your chain, then you've given him/her just what they wanted. Kill them with kindness.

Uh, yeah.... like I've never posted in OTHER forums before. I only post comments/thoughts on sites that I am very interested in. So I will be back often. But thanks for making it interesting. haha

Hey, that's a great idea - anything will work better than the idiots we have on it now.

Oh, let's take a look at the TV Guide.

{dramatic pause}

Yep, I thought so. Another week without a new episode. Everybody gets cranky when that happens.

Jeez, what do you do when you run out of chocolate?

The only substitute for chocolate is sex. Let's all get together Wed. nite and have an orgy. What's central, Kansas?

I'm sorry, but I'm from the west, born and raised. Having driven through Kansas I feel I have to ask, do they actually have sex in that forsaken state? Maybe we should try Denver where it's legal?

I'm East Coast, never been to Kansas, but I thought it'd be a good central location. I could go for a Rocky Mountain High, though. Wink

Sex, drugs, now we need some rock 'n' roll. I vote 60's. Beatles are good for both dancing & boinking. You know, we're gonna need some chocolate after all. Can somebody pick some up at the airport shop?

I'm in the Midwest, so I'll volunteer to host - and the Mary Jane is legal here in my town... IF it's under an ounce. But, hell, if we all get together... might be a swingin' party.
