Thanks Mac, great review as always!

Yes, Elsa had a bracelet on very much like the one that Naomi had on. I didn't get enough of a look at it to see if it was identical, though.

I was wondering about the initials on the bracelet & whether they're a bit of a misdirection (misdirection? on LOST? nahhh... Wink). The inscription starts out w/just "N," which seems pretty obvious—N for Naomi. Why would the inscription end w/both "R" & "G," then? Not that I've given that many inscribed pieces of jewelry, but wouldn't a love gift like the bracelet appears to be just have the giver's first initial at the end? So perhaps "R.G." doesn't stand for a person's first & last name, but a first & middle name, or an affectionate nickname. Off the top of my head, the only three characters who have names that begin w/R are Roger Linus, Richard Alpert, & Regina.

I definitely got the impression that Ben is manipulating Sayid into doing his dirty work through blackmail. Ben certainly seems to dislike Sayid...he was practically spitting venom in the last scene & seemed to be taking delight in causing Sayid pain (both mental & physical). That's our Ben!

BTW, Frank the Fruity-Shirted Pilot agreed to take Sayid off the island, not to fly him to the freighter. Whether or not this becomes important or not I don't know, but Frank's choice of words stood out.

Did Desmond learn to fly in the military?

Why was Sayid so solicitous over Naomi's dead body (aside from the fact that the writers were able to bookend the episode w/him closing two sets of dead eyes)?

I agree that the bracelets seem to imply that whoever is directly against Ben in the futture (?) was also against ben in the present. We know that since it was admitted that the rescue party was at minimum looking for Ben.

Regarding Sayid, Ben was pretty specific that his hold over Sayid was to protect Sayid's "friends". Were thos frineds the oceanic 6 or those on the island? My guess is that it is those who remain on the island. I take that from the common theme of the Oceanic 6 in worrying about those left behind.

As far as Desmond in the military, my memory is sketchy but it seems Des did fairly poorly in the military, ending up in confinement. That doesn't sound like a pilot.

On a personal note, I wish that the sound effect guys would stop making those fake clicking noises every time Kate raises up her gun in her SWAT impressions. Also, Sayid golfs left handed but shot the pistol in the hotel right handed. And, don't these hotel have any other guests who might be a bit curious about all of these gun shots?

Let me say that I was able to watch last night's episode on my new high def television and high def Direct tv, purchased just for Lost (okay, and football). Is that the signal of an obsession? Wow, does it make a difference. Even the leaves on the trees look alive.

LOST night at PC's next week, everybody!!!!

Let me just say, as I was staring at the Ben Linus passport that Sayid had open, my eyes straining for some type of detail on my archaic TV -- I thought, Why bother!! Someone will post a screen shot anyway. (Which, BTW, no one has... is it possible the name on the fake passport had the initials R.G.?)

I LOVE this board. Smiler

The fellow on the golf course that Sayid executed looked terrified as soon as he realized who he was speaking to but I don't remember...Did his demeanor change when Sayid said his name or when Sayid said he was one of the Oceanic 6?

Going out on a limb here ...

I'm used to the literary references here, but I thought the Ilsa having to escape people in Germany (what Sayid tells her just before they shoot each other) during their tortured romance was all a little too over-the-top of a "Casablanca" homage.

However, since everyone is speculating about R.G. and Ilsa in Casablanca was in love with Rick ...

I'm going to predict that R.G. is Richard Alpert's real name.

Well on the boat we have Regina and George (with the unspellable surname) - don't we?

And I wonder who these people are Sayid has to kill for Ben, to "protect his friends"?

Sorry that was my cue. I've been sick with the plague that is sweeping the nation. Lost plus High Def is amazing. Lost plus High Def plus fever is scary. Even the leaves on the trees look alive.
