I think I heard some theories that Kate will die, but I don't know. Not like WE'LL be disappointed. Her stories have always been kind of boring. Unless you mute the TV I guess.
There was some speculation about Kate being killed off because Evangeline Lilly was allegedly auditioning for other shows. However she denied it (and according to the article I read, the actor in question had not been informed of his or her impending doom at that point anyway).
I'm going to go with Desmond. I just think he's doomed!
You know, I thought of either Ben or Juliet too. What put me off was the wording "fan favourite". I wouldn't describe either of them in that way, would you? Even though I enjoy both those characters for their ambiguity.
I wouldn't consider Juliet a fan favorite, but Ben? Yes, he is a fan favorite.
It doesn't bode well for Penny who has the death threat from Ben hanging over her head. Although Penny alone isn't a "fan favorite", it is undeniable that being half of the gloriously wonderful Penny & Desmond, she is in jeopardy.
I have no idea who will die. The way the show is written it could be anyone but Locke.

I'm thinking you might be right.
And wouldn't that just open a can of worms! Alliances will shift. If Penny dies as a result of Ben's vengence against Widmore, Ben will be vulnerable.
Currently wrapping my brain around this time travel thing and I realize that if "what happened, happened" is an actual fact...Then the only person excluded from being the fan fave who dies is the one person we just saw shot straight through the heart at relatively close range.
So if Ben does end up dead at age 12, then "what happened, happened" is disproven and that will open a can of worms.
