Hi everyone,

A few forums regulars have asked me to whip up a Forum Rules document. And because I love you all so much, I've done just that. You can find the Filmfodder Forum Ground Rules here. If you have questions/concerns feel free to drop me a line directly and we can talk it out.

You forgot to sticky it so it would stay at the top. ( =

LOL. Nice butter up Wink

Rather than do the sticky thing, I'm just going to keep the rules in a separate forum area. If you ever need to refer anyone to the document, tell them to bounce over to Forums > Ground Rules.

Or just send 'em to me!

Rule #1 reminds me of what my mom drilled into my head while I was growing up: "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." I lurk/occasionally post on this site & this site only because (for the most part) the flaming/denigration/name-calling that's found on other sites is non-existent here. Trust, thanks for making this a nice place to be! Smiler

I'd love to take the credit, but I'm actually very fortunate to have a core group of intelligent and interesting people who keep the best interests of the forum in mind. So all of the credit should go toward them. I just mop up now and again.

But thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying the forums.

I thought of something it might be good to add to the "rules" - not another rule per se, but some helpful info. It seems like a percentage of people don't understand how the board works, in mechanical terms. They might appreciate the help if we just explained how the "edit" and "quote" buttons work and where they are and how to delete a post and so forth, and put that info up front. Not because they "have" to use it, but because it's useful knowledge that might not be self-evident if you haven't hung out on a lot of boards before.

I agree. This board's format is much different than other boards I post on.

Also, while I'm in this thread... Is posting images directly to threads 'ok' to do?

Apologies in advance if not.

There is a huge issue of spoiler headlines. This is getting tiresome. Can't you give warning to those who put spoilers in there headline.

I don't like this new forum system, not only because I had to register and confirm my email three or four times. I thought it was better when all the comments were grouped by episode. Now I have to sift through any topic some yahoo decides to put on here to find something interesting. Please consider going back to the old way. It was a great site, why try to change it?

Damon: I certainly can understand your frustration with multiple confirmations. Unfortunately, that's a function of many registration systems, including this one. Now that you're signed up, logging in will (hopefully) be much easier.

As for the posting, the episode threads are still included, but the community has grown by leaps and bounds and I see no reason to hinder that development by keeping the clamps on. It's just a function of the organic nature of community.

However, if you're looking for contained, episode-specific discussion, you should check out the accompanying Lost Blog.

Hi Trust!

Just never got around to say thanks for this site. I agree with Alais about the people here being just terrific compared to other sites. Some mild language has been spoken, but never out of context or in a hurtfull* manner. Thanks for letting adults be adults is what I mean to say.

Thanks, Eric Gunn.

Oh, by the way...The Sox wont make the post season, but that traitor Damon will... Mad
