While we wait... For those who aren't reading spoiler sites, what's your prediction?
Mine: - Right before capture, Desmond timeshifts out of harm from the Widtmore's henchmen. - Locke descovers the 'orchid' station & 'moves' the island. The island doesn't physically move, it shifts in time. - Richard brings Sayid and Co. to the temple - The Oceanic six get rescued off the freighter by an unknown craft. The freighter explodes. Non-Oceanic Six return to the island on scraps of freighter or spare rafts.
I probably will be dead wrong on all of them cause it would be too predictable... anybody got any better ones?
Well, I sure hope Des doesn't die, too, but I have no prediction on that.
As for "moving the island", though, I think it might very well move in both space and time. When Faraday looked in his notebook, the Orchid page had one equation labeled "time factor" and another equation labeled "space factors". I'm thinking we were shown those notes for a reason. (Another scribbled note off to the side, though, says something like "Incorrect!" That could simply have referred to one of the many equations on the page, but it could be referring to everything on the page. So who knows!)
Looking at the preview for next week, I was thinking that maybe the Oceanic 6 get on the helicopter thinking they are a first group of survivors heading to the freighter with Bens approval but Ben sabotages it by cutting the fuel line(in the preview ). In the mean time the island is "moved" and when they try to return to the island it is gone. The copter crashes into the ocean and that is how we end up with the 6. The freighter blows up and Michael and Jin are found floating thus being the 2 dead Oceanic passengers. What do you think? I know, I know what about Des? The other survivors are still on the island and that is what drives Jack to get back.
The reporter asked "Did your husband die on the island?" Sun gets a strange look on her face and then says "No, he never made it off the plane."
I think she can't say that Jin died on the island because he didn't, but is still on The Island and doesn't want to say he died there for fear of somehow jinxing him and making that come true. So she makes up a lie which shouldn't bring bad fortune.
In the episode that Sun gives birth, she had a bizarre dream about Jin. Later, she and Hurley (in a suit, no less!) visit a grave at a cemetery with his name on it. It appeared to be a true grief she was expressing... Maybe it was a symbolic marker, since she did state later he never made it off the plane. That wasn't known until the recent last episode. So why the marker?
