I searched for this in other threads and didn't see it so please forgive me if it has been discussed.....
If the island cures cancer, paralysis, and infertility then why is the "sickness" immune to the curative powers of the island?

It's all about your immune system. The "sickness" is native (or engineered) to the island only, so no one has immunities.

Bet if someone had brought some uninspected fruit with them on the plane that had mold rot, everything on the island would shrivel up.

I don't think we know enough about the so called curative powers of the island to make any logical assumptions just yet.

Rose said she just had that feeling of being sick, and then it was gone. Are you going to trust the hunch of an elderly woman as evidence of a supposed magic healing power?

Elderly!?! Man, if you think Rose is "elderly", I guess there are a lot of very decrepit folks hangin' out in this forum! *lol*

We can't even be 100% sure there is a sickness. Look at the characters so far who have claimed there was a sickness:

Desmond
Rousseau
Henry
Ethan

Henry's a known liar, we don't know crap about Rousseau to say if she's lying, same with Desmond, and Ethan we all know is a baby-snatching lunatic.

Did I miss anyone? I'm talking people that truly believed in the sickness; not people like Claire when she thought Aaron might be sick.

Did anybody else laugh when you finally saw the red monsters in the Village... what a dumb movie.

I thought it was a good movie, showing how a group of people can easily be tamed into submission! Yes, great analogy.
Maybe we'll find out from Michael more about the supposed sickness...
